No one told us 2020 was gonna be this way…. It’s been a year and then some! We’re into our second lockdown and I think we’re all in the need of a FRIENDS marathon and a hot bubble bath. I know what you’re thinking, sounds like bliss well what if I said you could make […]
This is so touching. Caterina Scorsone is well known for playing roles on hit TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, but the most important role in her life is as a mother. The mother-of-three recently wrote a beautiful post about parenting her daughter who has Down Syndrome for Down Syndrome awreness and it’s absolute heart […]
Honestly, I don’t think it’s that bad. When people hear my children’s names (Eric and Alice) they assume that I named them after my favourite Disney character. This is not the case though, they just happen to be names that belonged to relatives of mine or my husband. In any case if I had named […]
The government held the vote last night. The records of Irish mother and baby homes will remained sealed for the next 30 years. This decision has caused a lot of controversy as many families have been denied access for years to these records and now might never know the truth about what happened to their […]
It’s like this wine can read our minds. With the country going into a second lockdown tonight I think most of us need a stiff drink. It’s just, well…It’s been a year hasn’t it? Sometimes you really just don’t know what to say but if I could some it up I think the label on […]
Such as lovely idea. In Level 3 we were recommended not to go trick or treating this year, but with Level 5 now in effect a lot of alternative Halloween events have been cancelled too. To help bring some joy and excitement back into Halloween, one Dublin based eatery will be delivering sweet treats to […]
Apparently these have just landed into Penneys. A trip to Penneys is an Irish staple, especially in the run up to the Late Late Toy Show and Christmas. That’s why it’s with a heavy heart many will be popping into Penneys today before they close until early December. If you happen to be heading in […]
Have you spotted the new bins yet? Being a born and bred Dub one thing that has always annoyed me in the city centre is the lack of bins, especially recycling bins. In 2020, when a lot of us are looking to be more sustainable it’s a shame that a lot of recyclable items end […]
A dark part of Ireland’s history might be sealed away this month. The history of Mother and Baby Homes in Ireland is long and heartbreaking, and for many, still not over. For years, family members of women who went through the Mother and Baby system, or adults who were born in a home, have tried […]
A story straight from a Hallmark movie. Team Hope came together in 2010 with the goal of helping disadvantaged children overseas. Since then thousands of Irish people have joined their cause, helping to put together Christmas shoeboxes filled with gifts and essentials for children in disadvantaged areas. Among those who volunteer for Team Hope is […]
Get in there quick! Unfortunately with the whole country operating under Level 3 and some parts rising to Level 4, travelling outside of our own county for a staycation is no longer on the cards. If you happen to be living in Roscommon though and you fancy treating yourself to a magical break away then […]
A great way to help those working in entertainment. Due to Covid related restrictions many events across the country from festivals to gigs have been cancelled this year. This has had a negative knock on event for the staff that would usually work at these events. To help raise funds for stage crew who have […]
