We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the people of Ireland are pretty fucking sound.
At a very unpredictable time with the country entering uncertain territory, the nation has come together to help each other out and it’s fantastic to see.
Although social media is often criticised, it can be massively helpful and you only have to look at your Twitter timeline today to see the kindness that’s out there.
There have been multiple offers to help the elderly and anyone in self-isolation while others have been sharing ways in which to help students and children keep up to date with work and school.
Here are just some of the tweets posted today and it truly is heartwarming to see such positivity when it’s most needed.

Free online classes and creativity games:
In the event that the schools are closed I will offer some free online writing and creativity games and classes for children to keep them entertained. Question for you – would YOUR child be interested in this and what age are they? So I can start preparing some fun content.

A lengthy thread for home-schooling:
Many of you will spend the next few weeks at home with your kids and want to ensure they continue their learning outside of school. As a teacher, I’ve been asked by a few friends and followers here for some ideas. Happy to give a few thoughts – unfortunately, it needs a thread!

Exercising indoors with kids:
Just out of a very quiet IKEA (Dubliners aren’t stocking up on cheap Scandinavian modular furniture for the end times). I bought a couple of these folding gym mats for my son, & thought other parents might like to know a way to let kids excercise indoors during #IrelandLockdown pic.twitter.com/ww8P5mBQRz

Tips for Junior Cert History students:
#JCHistory students at home, can do some family research (CBA 1 & LOs 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 2.11)! Start by asking family details of grandparents & great-grandparents etc. Then locate their records to see what you learn! @JctHistory#familyhistory #histedchatie #history #genealogy 1/5 pic.twitter.com/BPS4Y28c6V
