Yesterday we brought you the story of Rey, the lead character of Star Wars: The Force Awakens being almost completely absent from official merchandise relating to the film.
People on social media noticed the absence and were angered by the omission because Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) is the main character in the new installment of the series.
In a statement tweeted out by the company, they announced that Rey would be included in the box later in 2016.

Hasbro has originally blamed the exclusion of Rey from the Monopoly set on being worried about spoilers for the film, but that didn’t go down very well with fans online.
@HasbroNews@CarrieMGoldman@JillPantozzi@Epbot@PhysicistLisa The question now is: why the hell wasn’t she included in the first place?

@HasbroNews Glad that you listened to the fanbase. You should offer a free Rey piece to anyone who has already bought it.

People seem to be happy that the company has listened to its fan base, but others are questioning why the lead character of a blockbuster film like this was left out of the official merchandise.
