We thought we knew Harry Potter but now we don’t know what to believe. Okay, so that’s a bit of an overreaction but the point is that there is a different word for “muggles” in America.
They say to-may-to, we say to-mah-to, they say “no-maj,” we say “muggle.”
That’s right, in America non-magical people are called “no-maj” (we don’t know if that turns into “no-majes” for a group but that’s the term they use).
American wizards now have a completely different word for “Muggle.” JKR has introduced No-Maj” (pronounced “no madge,” as in “no magic”)

The revelation is important because that’s the name that is being used in spin-off film Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne. And it seems we’re not the only ones who were shocked by the difference. Many fans took to Twitter to express their surprise and feelings about it. Some (pretty much all of them) are NOT happy…
