Godney, Godney, why hast thou forsaken me?
For those of you that are not familiar, Godney is a nickname many fans affectionately know Britney Spears by, as it is scientifically proven, Britney is God.
America’s favourite sweetheart began her career, like many others, as a Disney star, who rose to fame as a teen pop princess and transitioned seamlessly into iconic thanks to chart success after success.
The film is set to premiere in February. Titled “Britney,” it looks like it follows the rise to stardom and fall from grace. Highlights include her relationship with Justin Timberlake and marriage to Kevin Federline before then touching on her 2007 breakdown.
Earlier this year, fans were not impressed with the pictures they saw of Natasha Bassett starring as the main character, with the general vibe of press shots looking so tacky and wrong in comparison to glamour puss Britney.

Moving on slightly from the heinous crime that is the casting of the film, the trailer for the upcoming biopic promises a little more closeness to Britney’s appearance and life.
You know her name, but do you know her story? #BritneyEverAfter premieres, February 18th at 8/7c. pic.twitter.com/IADZsZe9x2

The trailer evoked quite a mixed response from Britney fans, with many cringing at how bad the trailer is…
My god, this movie looks like it's gonna be awful!
But I confess: I'll watch it! @lifetimetv #BritneyEverAfter https://t.co/gQPmfqxrJa— Evelien Verhelst (@EveLoveMusic) January 23, 2017
Okay but that #BritneyEverAfter movie isn't even Britneys story. It's exactly what the media portrayed her as, and exaggerated past that.
